By browsing on Cover Junkie and Magpile I found hundreds of covers by professional publishers in which developed my introduction to playing about with designs for my initial first draft. With the large variety presented it allowed me to get a feel for what colour palettes work well together, the range of fonts that are used and positions they have on the covers, and the placement of the person who is presented on the cover.
