Rankin Ray Gun

The reason for researching Rankin Ray Gun was that his magazine cover ideas initially look hand made which is an effective style and attracts a wide audience. It is aesthetically pleasing to the eye and the colour palettes are generally basic and include a very small range which makes it easier to look at.
The placement of the barcode is unique, with different styles, shapes and sizes to either show its relevance, or hide away its existence as much as possible.
The style Raygun uses challenges many conventions of a magazine, such as the masthead covering the faces of the model(s) on specific editions.

The tag lines are distributed across the page, rather than in a specific formation, which sometimes overlap to the point of not being able to read what the words say, this compliments the style used. The fonts and backgrounds are given the acid wash look to show a vintage effect which compliments the filters on the photos taken.
